# Choose Standard or Pro

Choose Standard or Pro mode for each drawing to balance quality and credits.

## Overview

GenToon draws with one of two models. Whichever you choose, it draws from the same scenario with the same characters. The model you pick decides how many credits each image costs.

| Model | Per image | Good for |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Standard mode** | 13 credits | **Fast and uses fewer credits**. Quick drafts and simple scenes |
| **Pro mode** | 25 credits | **Higher quality for complex, detailed scenes**. Scenes with lots of people or complex staging, and panels where the text matters |

> **Note:** Credits are charged per image. Splitting an image into several panels still costs one image at that model’s price. Drawing a new character with AI, or turning a photo into a character in an art style, costs 13 credits whichever model you’ve picked. Creating one from a picture or photo uploaded as-is is free.

## Where you choose

- **When drawing a scenario** — Click **Draw as-is** and both modes appear side by side. You can choose every time you draw.
- **When fixing a panel by chatting** — The edit confirmation card has a Standard/Pro switch.
- **When editing or redrawing from the panel tools** — Choose under **Generation Model** in the **Edit** window, or in the redraw window.
- **When drawing one panel at a time** — Set the generation model in the **Single Panel** tab.

## Choosing when you draw

1. On the scenario card, click **Draw as-is**. The button shows the estimated credit range across both models.

2. On the **How should I draw it? Choose based on credit cost.** screen, compare the price per image and the total for each mode.

3. Click the mode you want and drawing starts right away. The mode that’s currently set has a check mark.

> **Tip:** When you pick the other mode, that choice is saved to your account and shows up checked next time. If you don’t have enough credits for even one image in a mode, it’s marked **Not enough credits**.

## Master mode always draws in Pro

**Master** mode, in the **Single Panel** tab, lets you set the camera framing and character placement for each panel yourself. Drawing in Master mode is for subscribers only, and it always uses the Pro model, so each image costs 25 credits. This always-Pro rule doesn’t apply when you draw in Agent Mode.

> **Note:** You can see the plans on the **Pricing** page.

## FAQ

**Does Pro mode always look better?**

Not always. Pro tends to be more accurate with complex staging and text, but for simple scenes the difference can be small. Try Standard first and redraw only the panels you’re not happy with in Pro. Each redrawn panel costs that mode’s per-image price again.

**Can I redraw just one panel in Pro mode?**

You can redraw a single panel in Pro mode. Click the redraw button (the circular-arrows icon) in that panel’s tools to open a window. Hovering over the button shows **Character looks off?**. In the window, the model the panel was drawn with is already selected, so choose Pro first, then click **Regenerate**. Or ask for a fix in the chat and switch to **Pro mode** on the edit confirmation card. Either way, that panel costs the Pro price (25 credits) again.

**How do I change the mode I picked?**

You can pick the mode again every time you draw. You can also switch it on the edit confirmation card or in the edit window whenever you like.
