# Create a character

Follow the real screens as you create a brand-new character from a description and save it to your characters.

This walks through creating a new character with AI from the left side of the Studio. Each time AI draws a character, it uses 13 credits. Uploading art you already have uses no credits.

## Read the steps

1. In the **Create** tab on the left of the Studio, click **Add New Character**. If you’ve selected a world, click **Add cast** first, then **Add New Character**. The new character is then added to that world too.
2. Choose how to make it: **Upload Image** for art you already have, **Photo → Character** to turn a photo into a character, or **Generate with AI** to draw one from a description. To use a ready-made character, click **Browse Character Shop** to open the character shop in a new tab.
3. Here, pick **Generate with AI**. The option shows how many credits it uses.
4. Under **Select Generation Style**, pick the art style to draw your character in.
5. In **Character Description**, describe what they look like, such as their hairstyle, outfit, and vibe.
6. Click **Generate with AI** to draw the character, which uses 13 credits. Each redraw uses credits again. If you like it, enter a name in **Character Name** and click **Save to My Characters**.
7. Saved characters gather in the character list in the **Create** tab. When you send a story, you can pick them when Zennyang asks who should appear. In a project that uses a world, only that world’s characters are listed, so select that world and add your new character with **Add cast**.
