How to delete your account

Option 1 — In the app

1. Open the GenToon app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings → Account.
3. Tap Delete account and follow the confirmation steps.

Option 2 — On the web

1. Go to gentoon.ai Settings → My Account (sign-in required).
2. Click Delete Account at the bottom and follow the confirmation steps.

Option 3 — By email

You can also email service@gentoon.ai from your registered address with the subject “Account deletion request”, and we will process it for you.

Data that is deleted

Immediately on deletion, the following is irreversibly anonymised:

• Email address, name, nickname, profile photo, and bio
• Your login account (you can no longer sign in) and push notification tokens

30 days after deletion, the following is permanently erased from storage:

• Characters, elements, projects, and generated webtoon and image files
• Uploaded reference images and other attachments
• Subscription and credit balance information

What remains, anonymised — the following is not deleted:

• Posts and comments you made in the community stay visible so that other people's conversations remain intelligible, attributed to “Deleted user”. A stripped account record is retained solely to keep them attached.
• Projects you shared into a workspace remain with that workspace for its other members.

If you want these removed as well, delete them before closing your account, or email service@gentoon.ai.

Data retained and retention period

Most data is permanently deleted within 30 days of the request. However, certain payment and transaction records are retained for the periods required by law before being destroyed:

• Records of contracts and order withdrawals: 5 years
• Records of payment and supply of goods: 5 years
• Records of consumer complaints or dispute handling: 3 years

After the statutory retention period, these records are also destroyed without delay.

Connected social account data deletion (Threads · Instagram · TikTok)

When you disconnect GenToon or ask it to delete your data from the Threads, Instagram or TikTok app (account) settings, the following happens as soon as the request is received:

• The access and refresh tokens for that account are destroyed and the connection is revoked. From that moment GenToon can no longer publish anything to it.
• Profile data received from the platform — account handle, display name, profile picture, app-scoped user ID and granted permission scopes — is deleted, and the account identifier is replaced with an irreversible hash.
• Publishing history created in GenToon (which post went out when) is retained as part of your service usage, but it is no longer linked to any of the identifying data above. Consent and withdrawal records are retained as proof of consent.
