Privacy Policy and Creator Program Terms update

Announced October 16, 2026 · In force from October 23, 2026

As we launch cheers, series subscriptions and creator payouts, we now explain in more detail how we handle personal information, and we have written new Creator Program Terms. Here is what changes.

What’s changing

  • Series reading and subscriptions. How we handle the episodes you read, where you left off, the series you subscribe to and their alert settings, new-episode emails you separately agree to, and alerts about new episodes of series you recently read. Reading history is deleted after a year, and you can clear it yourself at any time.
  • Cheers. How we handle age checks (19 or older), cheer settings, cheer payments and daily and monthly limits, and cheer messages and reports. Cheer amounts are shown only to the sender and the creator who received them.
  • Creator payouts. The information we collect from creators who want to receive earnings (in Korea: legal name, resident registration number and bank account; outside Korea: country of residence, tax forms and similar), how long we keep it, and the payment statements we file with the Korean National Tax Service.
  • App advertising. A new section (Section 21) on Google AdMob ads in the mobile app and rewarded ads (credits and cheer stickers). Paid plans show no ads.
  • Comment translation. We explain that we use Google’s Gemini for “Translate”, which we already offer, and for the new automatic translation of other-language comments on a creator’s own post, and how translations are kept. The “Translate” part applies from the day it is posted and automatic translation from the effective date.
  • Notifications. We now describe precisely what we already do: we store your device or browser time zone to send notifications and emails at a suitable local time and to set the dates of local-day rewards, and if you turn on browser notifications we store that browser’s notification address. This part applies from the day it is posted.
  • New Creator Program Terms. The rules for receiving cheers (19 or older, turned on by you), the ad revenue share by qualified reads, settlement and holds, cancellations after refunds, tax withholding, credits and cash, creators outside Korea, and creators under 19. They apply only to creators who join the program.

What stays the same

Anything not listed here stays the same. If you do not send or receive cheers and do not take creator earnings, you do not need to give us any new information.

Questions or objections

If you have questions or do not want some of this processing, tell us at service@gentoon.ai. You can clear your reading history yourself and delete your account at any time. Only creators who want to join the Creator Program agree to its terms separately.
