Usage policy and safety
What you can’t create or post on GenToon, what to do when the AI declines a drawing, and how reporting and enforcement work.

Overview
To keep GenToon a place where everyone can make and share comics safely, we follow the rules set out in our Terms of Service. This page explains the most important ones in plain language. If anything here differs, the Terms of Service take priority.
What you can’t create or post
- Sexually explicit or excessively violent content
- Content that sexualizes children or teenagers — never allowed under any circumstances
- Content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or likeness rights (including using other people’s works or characters without permission)
- Content that defames or slanders someone, or that harasses or expresses hate
- Spam or advertising, or content that exposes other people’s personal information
- Scraping the service with automated tools, creating multiple accounts to collect benefits more than once, or abusing payment or refund procedures
When the AI declines a drawing
If your request or the images you added run into our safety policy, that panel isn’t drawn and shows This request doesn't meet our content policy in its place (an AI Safety Filter pop-up may appear too). You aren’t charged for that panel — the notice also says No credits were charged.
On the blocked panel, click Edit the prompt and try again! to open the Edit and request again window (if other panels are still being drawn, the button appears once they’re done). Check the reasons under This is usually why it gets blocked. Drawings are usually blocked because of Sexual or revealing descriptions, Characters that read as minors, or Photos of characters and elements used in this panel.
Tone down the wording, or remove characters, elements, or attached photos from the panel that might be causing the problem.
Send the request again with your changes. Redrawing costs the credits shown on the button, and if it’s blocked again, you aren’t charged that time either.
Reporting
On a post that breaks the rules, click the flag icon (Report); on a comment, open its ⋯ menu and choose Report. These appear only when you’re signed in, and only on other people’s posts and comments. In the app, report posts and comments from their ⋯ menu.
Choose a reason: Inappropriate content, Copyright infringement, Spam/Advertising, Harassment/Hate, or Other. For Other, you need to describe the problem.
Click Report, and the GenToon team will review it and take action.
If there’s someone you’d rather not see, you can also block them, separately from reporting. Community basics shows how.
If the rules are broken
- Depending on what happened and how serious it is, we may issue a warning, a temporary suspension, or a permanent suspension. In serious cases — such as using someone else’s account or payment method, or creating illegal content — we may terminate your account without notice.
- In the community, posts and comments can be removed or hidden, and community access can be suspended temporarily or permanently. While suspended, you can’t post, comment, or vote in the community.
- When we take action, we tell you the reason and how long it lasts, by email or in-app notification. If we can’t tell you beforehand, we tell you right after.
- If you disagree with a decision, let us know through Contact us or at service@gentoon.ai. You can still contact us while suspended.
