Overview

GenToon doesn’t use passwords. You can sign in with a Google or Apple account or with a 6-digit code sent to your email, and on the Korean site you can also use a Kakao account. The first time you sign in, your account is created as soon as you agree to the sign-up terms.

Where to find it

Click Log In in the top-right corner to open the Sign in to GenToon window. On a phone-sized screen, tap the sign-in icon in the top-right corner instead. The window has the same buttons as the sign-in screen below.

The Sign in to GenToon screen

Signing in with Google, Apple, or Kakao

  1. On the sign-in screen, click the button for the account you want to use.

  2. In the window that opens, sign in to that service and allow GenToon to use your information.

  3. If it’s your first time, the Finish creating your account window appears. Agree to the items you need and click Agree and sign up to finish.

Signing in with an email code

  1. On the sign-in screen, enter your email address in the Email address field and click Send code. In the GenToon app, tap Continue with email, agree to the required items, and tap Agree and continue to open the email field.

  2. Enter the 6-digit code from the email — it’s checked as soon as all 6 digits are in. If the screen doesn’t move on, click Verify.

  3. If you’re using that email for the first time, the sign-up consent window appears, and your account is created once you agree. In the app, it’s created right away with the consent you gave at the start.

When you first sign up

  • Agreeing to the Terms of Service (including the age requirement) and to the collection and use of personal information is required.
  • Receiving promotional messages (check-in reminders, deals, events) by email and app notification is optional. You can sign up without it and change it later in Notification settings.
  • If you just close the consent window, sign-up isn’t finished. The window appears again the next time you sign in.
  • New accounts start on the Free plan and get 150 credits every month.
