The relationship map
Note how the characters in a world relate to each other, like friends, rivals, or a crush, and scenes with both of them are planned and drawn with that relationship in mind.

Overview
The relationship map is a writer’s notebook for how the characters in a world relate to each other. Set the type of relationship, a short description, and how close they are right now, and Zennyang refers to it when planning a scenario. When both characters appear in the same panel, it sets their distance, gaze, and expressions so the relationship shows. It won’t put a character in a panel just because a relationship exists.
Where to find it
Select a world in the Studio’s Create tab, and you’ll see the relationships button on that world’s card. A world needs at least two characters to have a relationship map.
Add a relationship
Click the relationships button to open the map. You can also click one character’s photo in the world’s cast and then another character’s photo, or drag a photo onto another character, to open that pair’s relationship window right away.
Inside the map, drag one character onto another, or select a character, click Add relation, and then click the other character.
In the A relationship notebook for two window, check From and To, then choose a Type.
In In a word, describe the relationship briefly. For example: “Teasing, but they know each other best.”
Choose How close they are now. The Mutual box is checked from the start. If the feeling is one-sided, uncheck it.
Click Save relationship notes and it’s saved right away.
| What you choose | Options |

Zennyang never reads the private notes
The What only they know field is just for you. Secrets you haven’t revealed yet or plans for later stay out of the scenarios. Zennyang only uses the relationship type, the short description, how close they are, and whether it’s mutual.
Relationships suggested by AI
When you use Auto-write while editing an existing world, it may suggest relationships between the characters in it. The suggestions show up in the map, and clicking Apply saves them. Clicking Discard or closing the map removes them. If you save or delete another relationship while suggestions are showing, the suggestions are saved too.
Edit or delete a relationship
- Click a line in the map to reopen that relationship and edit it. Connecting two characters who already have a relationship also opens it.
- Click the trash button in the relationship window and confirm to delete it.
- If you take a character out of the world, the relationships involving them are deleted too.
- There’s a limit to how many relationships one world can have.
