Upload reference images

Attach photos in the chat so Zennyang can use the people or places in them as reference. Pictures for an art style are uploaded separately on the art style card.

Overview

Some looks and places are hard to describe, and a single photo says it better. Attach a photo in the agent chat, and Zennyang looks at it and works it into the art based on what you tell it.

Attach a photo

  1. Click the paperclip button (Attach file) next to the message box and choose a photo. You can also drag a photo into the box or copy and paste it.

  2. Say what you want to do with it. For example: “Make a webtoon starring this person” or “Use this place as the background.”

  3. Send it. You can send a photo on its own, but saying what it’s for helps Zennyang use it the right way.

How your photos are used

If you sayHere’s what happens
“Draw this person” or “Make a webtoon from this photo”The person or object in the photo is used as reference so it shows up in the art. This is the default if you don’t say otherwise.
“Use this place as the background” or “Set it in our office”The place in the photo becomes the background. If there’s also a person in it who should appear, say so.
“Create a character named Harin from this photo”A new character is made from the photo. Saving the photo as-is is free; redrawing it in an art style costs credits.
“Replace Harin’s photo with this one”Swaps the reference photo for an existing character. The swap is free, and panels you’ve already drawn stay as they are. Art style versions and looks that already exist for this character were drawn from the old photo, so panels drawn in those styles or looks still show the old appearance. You can delete art style versions from the character’s Details → Art style menu in the Create tab on the left; making them again costs credits.
“Save this prop as an element”Saves the photo as one of your elements so you can use it in other panels.

Other places to use images

  • Art style — On the art style card, open the My style tab and upload a picture with Upload (or Add New Style if you’ve already uploaded one). Only the way it’s drawn is used, not the people in it. See Choose an art style.
  • One panel’s background — On the scenario card, attach a background photo to just that panel in the Background image row. See Read and edit the scenario card.
  • World settings — Save setting photos in a world to draw the same place across episodes. See Create a world.

To make a webtoon from a blog post, paste the post text (or a few lines of the story) into the chat instead of the link. If you send only the link, the post may not be readable. Send a link to a product in an online store together with a request like “Make a promo comic,” and Zennyang plans a promo comic that introduces that product. Some stores block their pages from being read, so in that case attach a product photo or a screenshot instead.

FAQ

Will the art look exactly like the person in the photo?
Not exactly: it uses the photo as reference and redraws someone similar in your chosen art style. If you’ll use the same person across many panels, create a character from the photo.
My photo won’t upload.
Photos won’t upload if they aren’t image files or are too large, so check the file type and size. The paperclip button is locked while Zennyang is replying or drawing, so attach your photo after that finishes. If it still doesn’t work, try attaching it again in a moment. If none of your photos can be uploaded, you’ll see a notice in the chat; if only some fail, the message is sent without them.
