Overview

The Studio is where you make and polish your comics. It’s split into four parts: the top bar for saving, publishing, and downloading; the left side for characters, worlds, series, and SNS posting; the canvas in the middle for your panels; and the right side for chatting with Zennyang or drawing one panel at a time. This page describes the Studio on a computer screen. On narrow screens such as phones, the left and right panels are tucked away. Open them with the buttons at either end of the bar just above the canvas, and chat with Zennyang at the bottom of the screen. For the GenToon app, see Using GenToon on the web and in the app.

Where to find it

Left side: Create, Series, and SNS Auto

  • Create — Your worlds, characters, and settings live here. Create a new character or world, chat with a character, or open Character Studio.
  • Series — Opens the Serial Room in place of the canvas and right panel. Manage your series and episodes there, and use it when you’re making the next episode. While it’s open, the top bar hides the save, ratio, undo/redo, Publish, and Download buttons. Click the Create tab to get back to the canvas.
  • SNS Auto — Post or schedule your comics on your own Instagram and Threads accounts. It opens the SNS screen in place of the canvas and right panel. See SNS automation at a glance.
  • The credits icon and number at the very bottom — Your remaining credits. Click it to open My Credits, which shows your plan credits and purchased credits separately.
  • At the bottom of that window, click Buy Credits to top up on the Pricing page.

Above the credits number are the Check in and Feedback buttons. Check in shows only until you’ve checked in that day. Click it to collect your check-in credits. Use Feedback to tell us what got in your way or what you’d like to see. Use the collapse button at the top of the left panel to fold it away and give the canvas more room. For details, see Create a character, Create a world, and Earn free credits.

Middle: the canvas

  • Panels stack from top to bottom. Click one to select it: it gets a purple outline and a Selected tag.
  • Each panel has a vertical strip of tool buttons on its right. Hover over a button to see its name. See Working with panels for details.
  • Above the canvas, you can rename the project and switch between the Webtoon and Reel tabs. Reels turn your finished panels into a vertical video.
  • Below the canvas, you’ll see the total panel count and zoom controls. The Fit button at the far right sizes the panels to fill the width of the canvas area.

Right side: Agent Mode and Single Panel

  • Agent Mode — Chat with Zennyang to plan and draw several panels at once. This tab is open when you first enter the Studio. See Agent chat basics.
  • Single Panel — Pick one panel on the canvas and set it up yourself: choose the characters, describe the scene, pick an art style and a generation model, then click Generate Image. See Make one panel at a time.

Beginner and Master

When you select the Single Panel tab, a Beginner / Master switch appears right below the tab buttons. In Beginner, you just describe the scene and the AI handles the framing and placement. In Master, you decide the camera framing, where each character stands and faces, and even where the speech bubbles go, panel by panel.

FAQ

How do I change the canvas aspect ratio?
You can only change the ratio while no panel has an image yet. To start over with a different ratio, open a new project with the New Project button (+) in the top bar and choose the ratio before you draw anything.
Do I have to click save?
You don’t have to. A new project is saved and shows up in Projects when you send Zennyang your first message or draw something for the first time. After that, changes save automatically shortly after you stop editing. To save before then, click Save Project. If you try to close the page with unsaved changes, your browser will ask you to confirm. Leaving through the GenToon logo doesn’t ask, so if the save button has a purple outline, click it first.
